Wireless APs Access Points Stoneleigh

Wireless has become integral to everyday life. Whether it is supporting the everyday operations of a company or aiding a student sitting in a cafe finishing their homework, it has become hard to imagine life without access to the convenience of a wireless network.
Wireless networks have the advantage of being easy to set up, and recent advances in cyber security offer tough secrity protocols within your wireless network.
To offer you the best networking equipment we have partnered with CiscoHPE Aruba and Ekahau.

Wireless Surveys

The design of the wireless network is based on the long term objectives of the customer and the type of applications they plan to use in the future. Once these goals have been established a site survey can be undertaken which would include:

  • The scaling and importation of site plans into a survey tool
  • Producing a theoretical deployment plan based on the type of deployment required
  • Conducting a on-site survey with live equipment to prove final locations and numbers
  • Producing an actual deployment plan with locations
  • Designing the cabling and switch requirements
  • Designing the controller and management requirements
  • Designing the security elements
  • Producing a detailed report with design criteria, ap locations, heat maps, throughput, hardware and software requirements.
The purpose of a wireless survey is to ensure that coverage and performance are optimised to suit the individual requirements of the customer. In addition to coverage, capacity is a key metric as designing for coverage and designing for capacity can lead to very different AP layouts.
All wireless surveys will be carried out by our experienced technicians with the brief of establishing the best locations to deploy the APs for your specific use case. The most common survey types we carry out are:Predictive/Desktop Survey
We apply a program which uses information about the coverage area to perform AP placements based on RF algorithms. This will normally be carried out when the deployment environment has not yet been built.AP-on-a-Stick
This survey will be carried out before the WLAN network deployment. It will determine the RF signal propogation characteristics of the environment, and will help our engineers determine the most ideal location for APs, for maximum coverage.Post Deployment Survey
This is an important step which should not be skipped. The purpose of this survey is to ensure the verification of sufficient RF signal strength and SNR throughout the coverage area, to measure and reduce co-channel interference and to validate actual client performance.
